Event Announcement: American Universities Alumni Association (AUAM) Thanksgiving Evening

The American Universities Alumni Association (AUAM) will host a thanksgiving dinner on Thursday, 17 November 2022.  AUAM is a networking platform for Malaysians who attended colleges and universities in the United States, and for those who have been awarded American degrees through programs conducted in Malaysia.

‘This Thanksgiving dinner is another effort by AUAM to gather its alumni for networking & familiarisation of new members to the society. We look forward to members bringing potential new members, further growing the membership,’ said Mr. Ng Yih Chen – President, Council Members (2021 – 2023). 

In the spirit of thanksgiving AUAM members are able to contribute proceeds to support the Home of Peace of Kuala Lumpur.  All are welcomed to attend the Thanksgiving Evening at 7.30pm on Thursday, 17 November 2023 at Tiki Taka Restaurant and Bar in Medan Damansara, Kuala Lumpur. Cost is RM130 per person and includes a pork-free set menu and one non-alcoholic drink.

About us

American Universities Alumni Association of Malaysia (AUAM) 

The AUAM is a non-profit organisation established in 1977. AUAM was officially registered with the Registrar of Society (ROS) on 13th March 1989. Membership in the association is open to all who have attended colleges and universities in the United States, or those who have been awarded American degrees through programs conducted in Malaysia.

The main objectives of the association are to provide a platform for the exchange of ideas, organisation of educational and social activities, and the promotion of international understanding and goodwill.

The AUAM plans and implements various programs that bring together Malaysian alumni of American Universities, as well as Americans in Malaysia.

Pertubuhan Rumah Kebajikan Kanak-Kanak Home Of Peace, Kuala Lumpur

The Home of Peace started in 1993 with the objective of being able to help as many children as possible by providing shelter, education, and health care. The children under this project were from broken, dysfunctional and one parent families. Justine Morais, founder of Home of Peace, had a passion for educating children who came from such backgrounds. Home of Peace is registered with the Registrar of Societies (ROS) and the Ministry of Welfare. A five-year Licence is issued after stringent guidelines and requirements are met. The current Licence issued from the Ministry of Welfare for Home of Peace will expire in November 2023. There are fifteen children under care at Home of Peace.
