Prince Court Medical Centre and the American Association of Malaysia raise funds for charity

KUALA LUMPUR, 5 SEPTEMBER 2018 – Prince Court Medical Centre and the American Association of Malaysia presented three (3) charity beneficiaries today with funds raised from the recent Women’s Wellness Spring Bazaar held at the Grand Millennium Hotel, Kuala Lumpur.

The Women’s Wellness Spring Bazaar is a charity initiative by the American Association of Malaysia held for the first time this year in collaboration with Prince Court Medical Centre.  The event focused on aspects of women’s health and wellness issues.

As the health and wellness partner for the event, Prince Court Medical Centre set up a wellness open house at the venue. Visitors were able to meet Doctors, Consultants and staff from the hospital on a one to one basis and have a general wellness and health check. Doctors from various fields of specialization from Prince Court Medical Centre were also on hand during the event to offer consultations, advice and support. The bazaar hosted over 40 vendors, selling various knick knacks related to women’s health and wellbeing to raise funds.

Speaking at the cheque presentation, Prince Court Medical Centre’s Commercial Director Vincent Wan said:  “We are delighted to support this initiative by the American Association of Malaysia by taking an active role in supporting health and wellness goals for women. Educating women to prioritise their health and wellness ensures a healthier community of people. The Women’s Spring Wellness Bazaar is a unique idea and a meaningful event. Our wellness open house at the bazaar enabled our Consultants, Doctors and staff to interact with visitors, at the same time raise funds for charity”

According to Jill Nanne, President of the American Association of Malaysia, The American Association of Malaysia has been actively organizing various social and charitable events for the American community living in Malaysia. “The aim of the Women’s Spring Wellness Bazaar is to raise funds and give back to the local community. Having Prince Court Medical Centre on board as our partner was both an honour and paramount to the success of this event which was themed around women’s wellness and health,” she said.

The Women’s Spring Wellness Bazaar raised a total RM7,500, of which three (3) charities namely the National Cancer Society of Malaysia, TANMA Federation (a cooperative run by refugee Burmese Women) and the Breast Cancer Welfare Association (BCWA) were chosen as the beneficiaries. These charities were chosen as beneficiaries as each has a unique focus on women’s physical and emotional health.  Each beneficiary received a cheque for RM2, 500 respectively.  Cheques were presented by Prince Court Medical Centre’s Commercial Director Mr Vincent Wan and  Ms Jill Nanne, President of the American Association of Malaysia.
